Hello,
My photos have begun being over-exposed regardless of the settings I am using. Is this a mechanical (light leaking in) or possibly an electronic problem? Are there any simple diagnostics I can try? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

This may have a variety of causes, but based on my own experience the first thing to check is the ASA setting dial. The three XD-7s (European designation) that I have used all showed a penchant for the dial to disengage from its sprocket and start setting fancy values. Another very simple check is the small lever for deliberate over/under exposures around the ASA dial. If you have the earlier model of the XD-11 with this lever protruding from the front/left corner, it is very easy for it to be accidentaly moved from the "0" position. |

I had this problem with a Miranda many years ago and it was caused by low battery voltage. After I put new battries in, it worked as before. |
