I have a Minolta X-370. Photos taken outside are coming out with vertical stripes on the left side of the photo which, from this forum, seem to be caused by the foam that has broken down on the back cover. I can get it off but what do you experts do for new foam? This only happens with sun lit photos, the flash ones look really nice. Thanks much, Tom |

There are different ways, but I like the replacement foam kits sold by Jon Goodman. Among other things they come with very good instructions and a helpful little tool. |

It sounds like shutter unit needs to be thoroughly overhauled (lubricated and properly adjusted). What happens is that the closing and opening curtains travel at different speeds causing inconsistent speeds and thus vertical stripes. Also in some cases deteriorated light seals will cause horizontal lines. However, in your case the verticals are definitely the result of lack of overhaul. We service this model. Our estimate for complete overhaul is standard $48.00. Should you have any questions feel free to contact me at any time or visit our web site for mo details. Garry, www.garryscamera.com |
