I am attempting to remove the top cover from a Yashica TL Electro and I am having trouble with the shutter speed dial. The dial has three set screws, which I removed, but I still won't come off. Any ideas on what else is required to remove this dial? Thanks, Eric |

Yes. You must remove (very, very carefully) the black speed indicator plate. Beneath that, you will find a center screw which holds the assembly down. Sometimes you can warm the plate with a hair dryer or very carefully with a soldering gun (put something between the tip and the plate) to soften the glue, but as old as the glue is, this doesn't always work. Mainly you don't want to bend or disfigure it. Sometimes I will slide a flat toothpick in one of the windows and pop it loose that way. Good luck. Jon |
