Greetings, I have a Minolta XE-7 with an erratic meter. It is erratic when the lens (aperture ring) is lightly rocked back and forth. I am assuming it has a "stained" (dirty) aperture sensing resistor. I don't have an exploded view or repair manual. Can someone tell me where the resistor assembly is located in the XE-7? Thanks, Bruce |

Sounds like you are right. Unfortunately that resistor strip isn't easy to get to. But fortunately I have a service manual. Contact me via email and I'll copy and paste a couple pages. The whole manual is far too huge to email. Henry |

In my typical, haphazard way I sent you two pages in an email. Then thought maybe you'd like to see the wiring diagram, so sent a second email. And then... I thought...maybe Bruce would like to test his cleaning job before putting the cover on, so sent a fourth page in a third email. Glad this is cyberspace. I'd go broke if I sent that many snail-mail letters every time someone asks a question. Henry |

Thanks to Henry, XE-7 is working again. Resistor assembly was indeed stained (probably nicotine from it's former home). |

I have an XE-1. It works fine, but the exposure meter 'cheats' about 1EV (all pictures are underexposured). My friend can set/repair it, if he would have a Service Guide. Could you send the relevant pages me, please? Or could you put the whole file (50-70 MB) on a public FTP server? |
