It's just a question how the AE of this camera is supposed to work. There is a green indicator visible on top and in the viewfinder. It goes on as soon as I press the shutter release, and when the camera selects slower speeds it stays on as long as the shutter is open. But there is nothing indicating in advance that the camera will select a slow speed, so you can't decide whether to use a tripod or not in bad lighting situation. Is this normal, and could anyone point me to a manual? |

There is a downloadable scan of the MC original instruction booklet (in PDF) on my web pages http://www.provins.org.uk It is quite a large file so may take a while to download. Roger |

Thanks! I really should have checked your site giving so many Yashica resources. Some day I will send you a wiring diagram of the Lynx14E I figured out. |

Just downloaded it, and it seems as if the green indicator acts rather as a battery test. No way to determine whether the camera will select slow speeds as on the Minolta Hi-Matic F. However, it is a very compact and nicely built camera. The innards are stunningly advanced compared to the Electro35G, almost all wiring is replaced by flexible print circuits - even the wire to the pc connector. |

I'm glad the instructions were of use. I use mine quite a lot because it is so simple to use and has the long metered exposure capability. I do quite a bit of low light stuff and I find this little camera copes it with admirably. The zone focussing I don't find a problem being used to old folders of which many are without any focus aids at all. |
