I have to replace the Lightseals on the hinge of the door. There are 2 seals. One is on the body itself and one is on the door. The problem is: On this model, which has the Quick-loading mechanism , There is a metal arm that pushes the loading mechanism into place in the camera body.I need to lift this out of the way to have access to the seals. Can someone help? Thanks
You do not need to lift out, it is quite easy to work under the metal flap. Use solvent to remove the old seals with the help of a wooden scraper.Use the self adhesive fabric that Jon Goodman supplies in his kits and you can complete the job in less than 60 minutes.To stop the back moving you can hold it in open position with masking tape.To position the new seals just lick the adhesive before placing in situ-this allows the seal to slide about whilst you get it positioned.Have done about six FTb's this way with no problems. Jon sells via eBay under the name interslice and the kits are very good value.
