Could anyone tell the filter sizes for the Leica Screw Mount 90mm f/4 Elmar and the 50mm f/2 Summicron (collapsible)??? Threaded or slip on??
Thanks......

James,

The LSM Elmar f4/90mm takes slip-on A36 filter, unless it is the latest version, which would take E39 screw-in filters (39mm).

Your Summicron takes E39 screw-in filters.

The A36 and E39 are Leitz designations for Aufsteck ('A' - slip-on) and Einschraub ('E' - screw-in).

All the best,

Jan

If the Elmar takes A36 filters, it also takes 34mm threaded filters. However, the Leica A36 filters are plentiful and cheap, where 34mm threaded filters (Leica or anyone else's) aren't as easy to find.
