My Pentax ME Super's LED meter is activated by depressing the shutter release button halfway. The problem that' bugging the heck out of me is that there seems to be some sort of contact (?) problem, where, try as I might, I can't get the meter to wake up unless I press the shutter button all the way down, thereby blowing a frame. The camera is a Monday morning quarterback: By the time those disco-era LEDs light up in the finder, the shutter has already tripped! Can anybody suggest a remedy for this? My hypothesis is that there's some sort of problem with oxidation, resulting in a connection not being made at the crucial halfway mark...but I'm not sure where to spray the contact cleaner. Into the cable-release socket? Help! -CJ |
