Hi,

I am removing the top of my K-1000 but I cannot figure out how to remove the counter/wind lever.

Everything else is off.

Any suggestions?

Hi Clive,

I figured out the reverse screw.

The problem was with the release button housing, it was canted inward from an accident (dropped with cable release attached). I removed the top, straightened the relase housing, reset the chromed push pin which had fell in, and straightened the release plate which was bent.

I did note that there are (at least) two different styles of the K-1000. The top of the rewind base was plastic on one and metal on the other.

Thanks for your assistance.

I also have one with a bad wind gear (someone forced the wind lever and severely stripped the wind gear) but I know I need parts for that repair and I will have to wait for another to come in so I can repair it.
