I have an old minolta srt 101 in good working condition but have problems with the diaphragm blades which are either not moving or moving very slow when I try to decrease the aperture. Apparently they are oiled. My question is whether these blades really need the oil and how should I dismantle/ fix this matter without ruining the focusing of the lenses. Thank you! Marius |

1. NO, they are not supposed to have any oil on them. The oil has migrated to the blades from the focusing helical threads. 2. I do have sketches for disassembling this lens to clean the diaphragm. Email me if you'd like a copy. rick : ) = |

What Rick says plus- some of these early Minolta lemses have "soft" coatings on internal lens elements which are immediately damaged by any of the things we regularly use to clean glass safely today. Even a soft brush can damage them. |
