I've got a canont80 and it stopped working for nigh 15 years now.I've never tried to repair it but it is in near mint condition and I really want to fix it. Can someone offer some advice?
First check the battery compartment for corroded contacts. In many cases this will be the root of the problem. Change the batteries as well. Load a dummy film to make sure the camera isn't the sort that will only work with a film in it... if you do all this and it is just dead, or the readout gives you nothing but error messages, it's best to either take it to a Canon agent - who may charge something like the cost of a new body for repair - or scrap it. These cameras are not generally DIY fixable. PL
