I have been trying to find somewhere to buy some screwdrivers to dismantle my camera in order to fix it as my watchmakers set is too pointy so will not turn the screws. I have tried the local camera shops but they do not sell tools and have tried several searches on the Internet to no avail.

Hi Phil, You'll want to look for "cross point" screwdrivers rather than petite Phillips. Try Micro-tools, they have several sets. |

As you are in the UK go to the Maplins Electronics site.They have a five driver set that is both good and cheap.Normally I would not recommend cheap +point drivers,but these have good hardened blades and stand up remarkably well.I needed the smallest point available(which this set has)for a job and purchased three sets,thinking that being cheap the tip would soon wear.I am still using the original set!
I actually prefer them to my rather expensive Wiha set.
The set in question has coloured rotating handle ends and comes in a plastic case.Just look under miniature driver sets. |

To follow on to what Glenn has said, Maplins code stock numbers are N67BG for the cross point,N68BG for the straight.
I also use the same drivers. |

Thanks for the ref numbers;was in a bit of a rush when I posted information,so could not look at their site.
The only problem I have found is that the handle, of the size that fits the three mount screws on Canon FD lenses, is a bit on the slim side.The factory really torques these up and I have a grip problem with my user hand.Solved problem by increasing diameter with self amalgamating rubber tape-very grippy and at the moment I have never damaged a screw head.Just lucky I think!

Thanks I never thought of Maplin and there is a large store just 5 minutes away. I'll be up and running in no time.
