I bought this great camera new a long time ago and have tinkered with it to keep it operating perfectly (I picked up a used body for parts). In any event, I've run into something I would have thought was an easy fix - the film counter stopped working. Can't find any info on this and nothing looks broke. Can anyboby help me out? Thanks, Bob |

There is a spring that pops off or even sometimes breaks. After you get the top off the spring is toward the rear of the counter. Henry |

Thanks for your response, Henry. I see a small arm with a "fork" at the end and there is no spring evident. Is that where a spring should go? Am I looking at the right thing? Thanks again, Bob |

Sounds like you found the problem Bob. Now, if you can find the spring you'll be set. I'll send you a bigger version of one of the photos in my Pentax ME Super article in a private email. The spring is under the "mech" in the word mechanical. Henry |

Thanks Henry - I found it! The spring had tucked itself up under the counter. Got a small jeweler's screw driver in there and hooked it up. Works great now. Thanks a million - Bob. |
