I have had mine since new, (mid 80's) it was actually stolen once,(and returned a few weeks later!) and my name was gouged off the bottom. I was wondering if it was possible to replace that bottom plate? (kind of unsightly when I remove the power winder! Thanks! |

Yes, just remove the three screws, and the plate comes right off. |

I bet someone here has an AE-1P bottom plate...but is afraid you'll put your name on it. Try asking in the swap meet section.
Sorry, I don't have an extra bottom...

No, the AE-1 plate will not work with your AE-1P (although an A-1 will but its black).
I happen to have a spare AE-1P bottom plate if you are interested ($15.00, includes shipping).
