this is a question i posted at a friends of mines forum so i don't have to retype it:
i haven't used my camera in a while and i've had it sitting on the shelf with the lens and a lens cover.
well some reason the "mirror"part in there won't stay down...and there doesn't look like anythings broken...and iw as wondering if someone here can help me out.
its over a yr and a half old almost 2 yrs actually and i got it at walmart.its a 35mm Negative and i even got a Long zoom lens with it. |

What model is it? Recent Nikon in USA are normally "N(number" like N55, N75 etc. Once we know that we can help.

Change the batteries and then try it out. It could have just been sitting on the shelf too long.. when testing the camera do it outdoors in daylight, in low light indoors the camera may be setting a very low shutter speed, giving the impression the mirror is sticking. Normally the mode dial should be kept on "auto". If it still doesn't work properly it's best to take it to a dealer, these cameras cannot be DIY repaired.

i don't know what i did but kinda did what you told me and then i opened the camera backdoor of it and then BOOM it went back down..you guys are Geniouses!!
Thank you so much you just saved me 200.00 in buying a new one!!! |
