If the OM40 is similar to the OM10 the screen is rather glued into place. The good news is that it is accessible through the lens mount. There is a strip of metal on the front edge of the screen which holds it in place. I once cannibalized a screen from an OM10 junker so I don't know how to re-attach this glued strip. I think the only way to get a replacement screen is to buy an otherwise broken OM40 (don't know whether it has the same screen as other cameras of the OMxy - two digits - series). |
