I have got this Minolta XG7, my father gave it to me, but he isn't with me anymore, so I have not a clue what batteries this camera can take, please help ASAP

click on "instruction manuals" in left hand column, when that page comes up scroll to bottom and click on "comprehensive manual listing" and click on that.

1.5 volt silver oxide Ever Ready S-76 or equivalent.Just in case you got lost on the Minolta site.

does anyone know how to fix a light leak for minolta xg7? the camera's not in the best condition and the foam came off from the door... any suggestion besides handing the camera and $100+ to someone to fix it?...

When you get there, you'll see "Jon Goodman's Seal Replacement Instructions." You might read Small Seal and then below that any of the individual re-sealing sets of instructions for a more comprehensive look. This is very easy work and to a degree even fun.
