Hello everyone, I have just acquired a Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta B 532/12 with retro- coated f2.8 Tessar and Compur Rapid shutter. It has not seen any use for many years judging by the stiffness in the various moving parts. The rangefinder seems fine but the shutter will only fire at 200th, 400th and B. All of the slow speeds fire at 200th or so, suggesting it needs a good service. Anyone have any ideas how to get into the shutter? There are a couple of websites showing rangefinder servicing for this camera: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/btvarner/Bruce/zeiss_ikonta_b.htm http://www.davidrichert.com/zeiss_532_161.htm These provide a good idea of where to start, but things have to be further stripped down by the looks of it before the shutter workings are revealed. Any ideas? Regards, Alan Cookson |

Glad to see you had no problems getting here from PhotoNet. Check out this info on your shutter... http://daniel.mitchell.name/cameras/compur/compur.html Once you figure out how to open it, come on back. |
