Have a 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 Speed Graphic that I would like to get a slip on lens shade for, the size would be 32mm, anyone know where I may be able to get one? Thanks |

I have too many old cameras ,that I can't find hoods for so I just make them. for 32mm I use a 16 Oz. "Sprite" bottle. 1 1/2" down -cut it - then cut at the shoulder- sand it down till you get exact fit- spray paint flat black. |

Robert, One possibility is a tripod hole screw, drilled into the top of the Graflex. Mounting the camera on this screw, the baseboard of the Graflex then acts as a lens shade for any lens. It also has the added advantage of a front lens downwards tilt, which many landscape photographers find more useful than the more limited front lens upwards tilt. Kind regards. |

Hi,Sam- for 42mm-which I think is a little over 1 1/2 inch- look for a 1 quart or 1 litre plastic water bottle in soft drink isle of your local supermarker. A 28 0z bottle might be big enough bot I'm not sure. A good bottle for those little RR lenses like on the Kodak #1 is a 4 0z. Robitussen DM bottle-- cut right below the threads. |
