Is there any practical way of adjusting the meter of a SRT MCII? Does the top have to be removed? It seems that all of a sudden my meter is 3-4 F-stops overexposed. I installed a new 1.4V zinc battery just the other day. I may try it with a standard 1.5V battery to see if it continues to be that far off. Thanx, Harlee |

if it's that far off it seems likely that one of the photo cells is bad. |

Harlee, Try cleaning the battery compartment terminals first. If that doesn't do it, Ed might be right about the photo cells -- sometimes over time the glue dries out and they detach from the prism. Kelly |

To determine if the small prisms (the two little prisms that hold the cds cells and attach to the pentaprism) came loose, you need to remove the top cover, remove the prism and look at the cells. If cloudy, then they need rebonding. They were originally held on with rosin, and the old way to reattach them was to use a soldering iron and re-melt the rosin making a new bond. The new way is to clean everything off and crazy glue it into place. |
