Hello Buddies! Can someone give me a tip how to secure meter lever settings in proper position during top camera cover removal? Tried twice already with 101 and 100x and in both occasions the adjusting string that holds lever and asa settings sprang somehow and could not bring it back to original position..Want to clean focusing screen so top has to go..and this time need advice how to work it out to have meter settings as at present, when putting back together all the pieces after service.. Always on bulb 'B' and the highest ASA/DIN number. On the 100b; 3200.
Putting the speed dial/asa plates back together requires you seat the dial so that a portion of the collar below is slightly visible in the notch for the forks of the asa plate.
While holding the dial, use tweezers or similar to push the collar to the left (counter-clockwise) so the notch is clear. Keep tension on the dial or it will spring back.
You can then seat the asa plate with a little finesse. Don't put the screw back in until you know you have it seated properly. i.e. hold the asa plate in place with a finger and use the dial to change the asa.
