You can use Microsoft office document immaging. This app can usually be found under start/programs/microsoft office/microsoft office tools A .tiff image is ready to be recognized by any OCR software. |

if you go to the us patent office website (USPTO.gov), they have links to downloads of some good tiff reader software... the patent images are in tiff format |

You can also get the very nice freeware file viewer "Irfanview," which will open just about anything, run slide shows, resize, and also convert the files to other formats. |
