Finally found the time (and courage) to clean the Copal shutter on my project Walzflex TLR, so now I am in the re-assembly and restoration phase. I bought some new self-adhesive leatherette from Cameraleather. Most of the camera has been stripped of its old brittle covering, except for the back. Before I strip it and recover it, I need to know how to remove and replace the little aluminum feet on the bottom. They don't seem to unscrew, and seem to be riveted in place. Any ideas?

If you look at the leather kits for Rolleis from the
Cameraleather site, you'll notice that they have cut holes in the leather to fit around the legs. I suggest you do the same this "might" be easier than removing those metal feet

That does look simpler. I'll see if I can find a hole punch the right size. A drill might work if I sandwiched the leatherette between two pices of wood. Thanks.

Punch can be made from a section of brass tubing which can be obtained from Hobby Shop in various diameters. File a beveled edge on a short section and cut to shorter length. Place leather on a wood block and strike punch with a mallet.
Works for me. Richard.

You can also purchase a small leather punch from your local craft supply store. :-)

Eh? Camera-leather has pre-cut leather?

I couldn't find one that would fit so i bought a 9x12 sheet. Got so far as doing the viewfinder section.

Need to get some paint stripper to remove the back section of vulcanite. Most of the vulcanite peeled right off except for that section.

Have you checked the lens accuracy. I had to calibrate mine. I did that by wasting a whole roll with varying viewing lens settings and applying the correct one from viewing the negs
