I bought a Rolleiflex 2.8E with a "non-removable" hood and a rather dim and scratched focusing screen. I've got a new replacement screen (from redleica1 on eBay) and a RB67 type E screen (cut to the right size) that I would like to try out, but I do not know how to remove the original screen.. After removing the hood (kept in place by four small screws) I can see that the screen is supported by two bent metal strips acting as springs - is there an easy way to replace the screen without further dismantling of the hood structure (I'm a bit scared that I wont be able to put it back together again :| )? Thanks, -- Mikko |

There is no need to dismantle the hood. You only need to remove the two springs by pushing the middle of the spring towards the screen so they unhook, and the screen will come out. Replace the screen and put back the springs. |

Hi Mikko: I sell screens for these - if you'd like to send me an email at rick_oleson@yahoo.com, I will email you my installation instructions and sketches. The procedure will be identical for the RB67 screen as it is for mine. Your new screen will be MUCH better than the original. |
