Has anyone attempted to repair and/or refurbish an auto-winder? If so, is it easy? Is it difficult? Is it worth the effort at all?

This is something I would be most interested in knowing myself. I just purchased a lot of equipment and the seller is throwing in a couple of winders, condition unknown. It would be worthwhile knowing if it's worth the effort to fix them.

not much... what winder are you talking about? i think i may have a few notes on the OM Winder 1 and the Canon Winder A, but they don't amount to much.

Unfortunately, the winders I was referring to were Minolta Winder D, but I figured that most winders worked pretty much alike and except for the internal layout were similar.

Olympus Winder 1 was exactly what I had in mind! Or any Olympus winder or motor drive info would be greatly appreciated. I would imagine the basic mechanics of most all 35mm SLR winders are very similar?

I can't help with the Minolta, but I do have a little bit on the OM Winder 1 - email me at [email protected] and i'll send you what i've got.

Mndean, if you think it will be of any use, I'll be happy to send these to you too along with what I have for the Canon Winder A. It's not a lot in either case, but enough to get you inside.
