Hi there I am having trouble with the battery tray in my Olympus RD. In short the negative (white) wire has come loose from the underside of the battery tray. I have the battery contact, screw and nut but cannot figure out how to reattach them. Can the tray be removed or the back of it accessed easliy? Thanks, Jeremy
I have a service manual for a 35DC which is a very similar camera. The illustration shows a small cup shaped battery case which appears to be located by two small bosses molded onto the top side of the battery case and may be glued to the body of the camera. Access would seem to require removing the lens and the plate that carries a lot of the linkage which then allows you to remove a boxy lightproof frame which should expose the top side of the battery case with the nut for the screw. If you look closely into the battery cavity you can see two faint depressions where the bosses are located on the top side. It might be easier to find some other way to make the negative connection.
