Hi,

I have a k1000 which works fine for the speeds down to 1/15. however, if you any lower than that, when you fire the camera mirror stays up. the curtain looks moving fine.

it is something as if something did not move enough and needs a little bit kick.

for example, if you pull the curtain very little and the cycle completes and mirror go down again.

I opened the bottom plate and there is small piece turns when you fire the shutter which pushes the level preventing mirror coming down.

That turning piece seems that it is not strong enough to push the lever.

Any ideas if and how I can adjust that?

Regards,

Symptoms would appear to indicate sluggish shutter mechanism causing curtains to 'hang-up' and prevent mechanism from resetting. Also slow speed escapement sticking. A good CLA should fix this. Lifting of front leathers and removal of front panel would let you access the s/s esc.and some shutter bearings. To make a proper job of it would involve considerable dismantling. You really would need to reset curtain speeds etc. Hope this hasn't put you off.
