I have a problem with the meter. the old battery went dead and i replaced it with a 1.5 v battery and it just pegged the meter. then i went and got a 1.35 v battery by wein. that also gives a high reading which cannot be brought down with any f-stop and shutter speed setting. i waited the obligatory half hour and still no change. any suggestions on how to approach this problem? thanks. george

more info on this. i just tried setting the film asa setting down to the slowest setting and can now get some adjustment of the meter with shutter speed changes but just a very slight movement with the f-stop changes. hope this helps to narrow things down. also took a voltmeter reading of the new battery and it reads 1.35 volts. thanks. george

I suspect that when you 'pegged' the meter, the needle suspension was strained or dislodged. Sometimes dirt in the bearings can be shifted by the violent movement, this basically jams the free movement of the needle. On equipment that I know well, I have freed the needle by a sharp knock in the right direction. I am sorry that I am unable to recommend you do this, as I have no knowledge of your equipment.
