As I look at my 2/50 Zeiss Pancolar (Exakta mount), I notice, when the lens is held at a certain angle, that there's an odd slight "haze" (it looks like a bit of blue swirl) "inside" the front element. I've been able to unscrew the entire front element "group" from the lens body, but seem unable to get any further. I've cleaned the outer front element and the rear front element, but the haze seems to be between the two surfaces. Is there (there MUST be) some way to get in there? Thanks a lot. |

Notes I made when I took one apart (also Exakta mount) don't mention any problem, but I'm afraid that reading them again they aren't very clear! I assume you've got the serial-number trim off? If not, use a rubber friction device to unscrew it. From pictures I took it looks as though the front element is held by the usual slotted retaining ring. |
