Will a 35mm Canonet 28 rangefinder work OK with a 625 alk. 1.5v battery ? If not, will a smaller 'air' cell work with a rubber '0' ring, or do I need a metal adapter ? |

In my experience with the QL17 a 1.5 volt is fine. Now that comes with this cavaet, I only shoot black and white film (the real kind not the C41 poser film). Modern films have much more latitude than old so color should be OK also. Shoot a roll and you will know how to adjust exposure if at all. Maybe someone else here has a formula for some currently popular films. Now if the question is will it damage the meter, my answer is no. The voltage difference is very small. After purchasing Wein cells a couple of times I stopped. Those little batteries just don't last. A rubber O-ring does work fine if you go that route. Those old rangefinders are great have fun with it. Andy |

#675 hearing aid batteries work fine, even with color. Less than $1 each. There is a trick to making them last longer, if you are not going to use the camera for a while, remove battery and cover small air holes in bottom with tape until you want to take more pics. |
