camera is battery dependant by design. it will not function without battery installed. new batteries installed advance film, fire about five times witout fail, then nothing. let it sit a few days and it repeats above. I'm wondeering about bad connection to battery. although when it locks up, the film advance is only about half way in its throw. any suggestions appreciated. |

Electric power has nothing to do with film advance, only the shutter. What you are experiencing with the advance is normal operation - the lever winds once, the shutter will not fire due to the electrical problem, and then the lever won't move because the shutter is already cocked. the half-way position is the 'ready' position of the lever at the start of the throw. Can't help you with the electrical diagnosis though, sorry. rick |

thanks, I removed the bottom plate, did some general cleaning, found what looked to be hardened lubricant in a number of places and quite a bit of grim. alos a set of contacts that appear to be attached to the end of the film spindle, ran a piece of thin white paper throught the contacts. Camera is firing everytime now....for how long...we'll see. thanks again. |
