There are 2 electrical contacts sticking up from the top of the motor. Hold a coin down on these to short them together and it will run when you press the shutter release.

If it doesn't run, the first place I would look is the connection between the battery holder and the winder, where the holder clicks in. These contacts get corroded sometimes and you get a bad connection... make sure they're clean and bright on both pieces.

I tried cleaning contacts on end of battery holder and held it in tighter to see if that would make contact better while shorting 2 pins on top still nothing. so i took out 2 screws that hold on top with advance button. checked switch with dvm switch checked good. so i put top back on and shorted 2 pins and she ran. hooked it up to camera works great. i think they,re might be break in white wire it looked bent pretty sharp when i took it apart. it might have remade contact when i put it back together. so thanks for your help rick.
