Can someone tell me or send a photo showing where the blue hot shoe wire attaches to the circuit board on a 283 flash unit. My blue wire broke off the circuit board before I had the flash pulled apart and I can't tell where it was attached. Can't find any photos or wireing diagrams online. Thanks in advance. |

Mike, I have one pulled apart and, I will try and describe the attachment point. If you are viewing the ckt. board side nearest the bottom of the case, there is a slot in the board and there are tro yellow wires, two orange wires, two blue wires and a black wire going through that slot. Immediately below that slot, you should see a large "pad" on the board. On mine (Vivitar auto thristor 283), the blue wire from the hot shoe is soldered at the right end of that pad. The left end has a solder connection from the opposite side of the board. Hope this helps... Frank |

Frank, I think I see what you are describing. Would it be possible for you to take a photo of the underside of the circuit board and post here or email to [email protected]? I sure would appreciate it if possible but if not thanks for your help. |

Frank, I've uploaded a photo of my ckt board without the blue wire (low res). Wonder if you could load into MS Paint, circle the solder point for me then re-post or email to me? Thanks |

Great, that's what I thought but wanted to be as sure as possible. Thanks again. |
