I was looking at lens filter thread straighteners and came across what looks like the best deal @ Camerashop.in Active Industries in India. http://camerashop.in/lens-filter-ring-vise-camera-lens-opening-tool-tools-p-1167 .html?osCsid=a40284b0f6379ae6658ff9f3749af876 Has anyone bought their stuff ? I am somewhat hesitant for two reasons first I can't get shipping charges without registering and secound I wonder about the quality of there stuff ? their 2piece set is $35.00 about what micro tools charges for 1. Thanks Jay |

Why pay more for tooling that you will only use infrequently? I have purchased a few of Active Ind. tools and they all work. I have a set of the straighteners. The only problem I have found is poor plating on the handles, however the tools work well and it is an easy matter to clean up the cosmetics - if you are that fussy. As always you get what you pay for, but in this instance there is nothing to go wrong or malfunction - so as I said in opening, why pay more than you really need to? |

Thanks Glenn I don't care about the finish much I can clean the handles up or cover them if nessary. It's really the threads and and metal that matter. Jay |

I bought a set of 3 lens spanners from them, at less than 1/2 the price of micro tools in Europe. They work fine for moving split slot nuts and pin-faced screws but would be very careful using them shift a lens retaining ring. As Glenn says the surface isn't anodised or plated, just dipped in black paint. They are OK, 'you gets wot you pays for'. |
