I have a very old Leica Meter (num. 09113) that it's in excellent condition but it does'nt work. This light meter works without battery and I think that the cells are bad. Do you think that is possible to repai it? |

Yes it is repairable but at what time and cost? photovoltaic cells are still available you might check with Edmund Scientific. There are two factors to check , Mainly size, is the replacement small enough to fit housing. the other is voltage output. Add a third (calibration) usually done by adjusting a poteniometer. I take it this is a MC or earlier meter. You will have to calilbrate the meter to the new cell, this is done by comparison with an accurate meter. then adjusting the pot. I have seen some meters calibrated by painting small portions of the cell surface till it was accurate. Good luck an let me know how you make out with it. Don |

I just posted instructions for repairing a selenium meter on an Auto Eye II. They can be accessed directly at: http://www.thermojetstove.com/Autoeye/meter.htm |

Hi Juan Were you successful with the repair? I have a Leica MC here waiting for the same treatment. I was unsure about the right replacement cell from Edmund Scientific because the MC has two sections for high and normal sensitivity. |
