Hi folks:
Haven't posted in a while; been very busy at work. One benefit, my boss heard that I like old film cameras and he brought in a very nice Minolta XG-A that only needed light seals and batteries. The interesting one is the Minolta Hi-Matic 7SII with a black body. From what I understand they are somewhat of a collectors item. It does need some work. It fires nicely in manual but doesn't work in automatic. I am tempted to get it to a professional. Any ideas?

I have the Minolta HiMatic 7s. Father of your sII.
It is my backup to my Nikon F2AS.The Rokkor lens is
remarkably good, and yours should be as well.
Best regards,

It's a very good lens. A design collaboration between Minolta & Leitz. It's the same lens used on the Vivitar ES, Revue 400SE and a couple of the Konica C3's etc. You won't be disappointed in it's performance.

The only disappointment is the meter is dead. I pulled the bottom cover off to see if the connection to the battery compartment was broken. Everything appears to be OK. Luckily it can be used as a totally manual camera. Not unlike my FSU rangefinders.
