I have inherited a couple of old cameras and a few lenses from my Grandfather which I have been poking around with lately. The SR-T 100 X seems to work alright, though I haven't taken any pictures yet, except for the fact that when I move the film advance lever over the mirror for some reason comes up which makes it impossible to see what you're taking a picture of. Has anyone ever run into this problem and possibly have any fix ideas? |

Now that's interesting, as that's exactly the opposite of what usually happens with an SRT. What I mean is it is a fairly common problem for the mirror to stick in the up position after the shutter is tripped and before it is wound to the next frame. For the mirror to come up when winding seems rather...weird. Does it come down after you trip the shutter? |

Yes it does. Just means you basically have to set everything and then not move a muscle advance the film and snap the picture. |

Ugh, I can't even begin to figure what would cause that problem. The SRT100x is one of the very late SRT cameras, and I don't know if they changed anything much in them. It might be better, depending on the work required, to just get another SRT, like a 201 or 202. They're certainly not expensive. I bought an SRT102 for $25 with lens in working condition. |

This seems like the camera has been apart and wrongly reassembled. |

If this camera has mirror lock lever it may be set wrong. Also as Harry says the mirror return spring may be off its keeper. Accessw is by removing the bottom plate. Don |

The SRT 100x was made long after mirror lock up was removed from the SRT line, so it isn't that. |
