Hi, I just recently got this camera and replaced the seals. However, the shutter speed ring does not work anymore. It got very tight and I couldn't turn it. After some wiggling, it became very loose and now it's always on the BULB setting. I'm just wondering if this is easily fixable, and if so, how would I go about it? Are there any instructions for getting to the shutter speed ring? Thanks in advance. PS. It's a bit discouraging when you think everything is well and then this happens...I hope I didn't replace the seals for nothing. EDIT: Looks like the aperture ring is stuck also. It won't go past f/4 and the aperture doesn't change when I turn it down from f/4. |

You can get to the aperture and speed ring by opening the lens from the front. There are several retaining rings and deeper inside it is a bit complicated because of the many cables from the contacts which I did not want to unsolder. However, you should be able to clean the two rings and lock them in place again. There is an exploded view of the Canonet in the Repair Manuals section of this site. |
