Hi, I have a Canon A-1 with the following problem. It fires at some unknown constant sounding shutter speed that can't be changed no matter what its set to in TV mode or what aperture is used in AV mode. I tried different lenses in both auto and manual mode. I also put a fresh battery in it. The viewfinder reads a constant "bulb 3 2". Any ideas? Thanks Vic |

If you decide to get it repaired, I've used Steve Swearengen ([email protected]) for my repair work on t90s and other cameras. Excellent service. His web site is: http://www.cameraclinic-usa.com/index.html |

He has also CLA'd three A1s for me, and let me know that another wasn't worth repairing. Honest man. |

due to the age of the camera the gears on the side of the mirror box get dry and cause shutter problems. the camera sounds like its just needs to be cleaned, lubricated and calibrated. Like the AE1 and AE1 Program these cameras go forever. |
