Hi nasty fingers, I'm still looking for parts to fix Konica III. I've got to know that Konirapid MFX shutter shares design with Seikosha MX/MXL so I could use aperture blades from Seiko shutter. Unfortunately I still weren't able to find appropriate parts camera. Now I read on Dan's Mitchells site "The Seiko shutter on this camera is a copy of the Synchro Compur." - I'm talking about Aires 35 IIIL which also has Seikosha MXL shutter. I know that Aires 35 IIIL has 5 blade paerture, maybe there exist also variants with 10 blades...no info. Wait, maybe also Synchro Compur can donate parts for Konirapid. Compur has variant Compur Rapid, maybe this explains from where Konirapid originates? I'm not sure, though. Do anyone knows if Compurs have 10 blade apertures? Maybe you can show picture of individual blade(-s)? |

The fact that a shutter is a copy of another does not imply that parts are interchangeable; in addition, each of these shutters was made in a series of different sizes for different lens applications, and each went through its own process of design evolution over the years. I'm afraid the odds of finding parts like aperture blades interchangeable among 2 shutters of different countries of origin would be pretty long. |

Thanks Rick, seems I'll put Konica on hold or send it out for repair...or sell for parts, if neither gives results. |

I suspect -- without verification -- that the notable S K Grimes machine shop for specialized camera rebuilding could cut some new shutter blades using old ones as the model. Not inexpensively, I presume. I have a small pile of old shutter blades from non-functioning Synchro-Compur shutters designed specifically for the Voigtlandder Vitessa-T fixed-shutter 35 mm rangefinder that my collection comprises. The time will come when I will want to replace some of those blades, enabling me to rebuild two of the ninety-eight Viessa-T camera bodies that I have accumulated and worked on. I could hardly imagine that any of these blades would fit any shutter other than the Synchro-Compur 00 series specific to the Vitessa-T. Arnold Harris Mount Horeb WI |

Thanks all, seems I could get original blades. No need for substitutes anymore. |
