Hi,
Restoration of plate holders, book and slide types is what I'm trying to get into. Many have been collected so lots of samples are at hand. Some come apart easily which is nice. What kind of wood working equipment is needed to duplicate them?
Thanks.
Michael

A skilled cabinet maker can duplicate these using nothing but traditional hand tools. For the less skilled, the most useful tool is a small circular saw, with a good selection of fine toothed blades. This will allow you to accurately cut the hardwoods, that are needed in the construction of these devices.

Glenn,
Thank you for the tip. I've bought a small table saw, a small shaper router, found someone who does what I'm interested in as a business, found collector(s) who do it, too, got 19th century how to literature as downloads, and collected many things to work on. That means I have to fix them.
Michael
