I need to troubleshoot and fix a problem with the linkage between my Kiev-4A's rangefinder compensator and the worm gear coming from the lens helical. The linkage in question is located underneath the beamsplitter and behind the focus gears. How far do I need to strip the Kiev to be able to get the beamsplitter out? Can I do it after just removing the front and top covers, or do I have to remove the shutter mechanism as well? I've checked the Kiev Survival Site, it doesn't say. Thanks for any advice. |
