Have you ever noticed everyone is a "new member" on these forums? Even Rick Oleson with about 1000 postings and has been registered since '06 still has the "new member" tag under his name. How long does one need to be here to become an "old member"? |

All to do with change of service provider or some such thing, which occurred some time back. |

But the registration dates were not lost and still must reside somewhere in a database ! So using these as a starting point the member-issue could easily be solved ;-) |

No doubt, but is this really an important issue? The post count gives one some indication, as does the register date. New member, old member, old fart or whatever else the software cares to classify me by - I care not one jot, so long as somewhere in my ramblings I have managed to help somebody. As I indicated in another thread, my time on these infernal 'machines' is strictly limited to a self imposed daily 'ration'. Before my allotted time runs out I have other more productive things to do, rather than sitting in front of a screen for hours on end getting cramp in my butt! |

Explicit consent, Glenn. Hairsplitting, all this. What is a member anyway? Next thing is someone says we all need registration numbers and a dog tag in case we get lost. I have never considered myself a "member", I am an individual posting here every now and then, and that's that. |

Ok, if that didn't pique your curiousity how about the archived messages? There are message archives for 2008 and 2007, etc., and, yet, there are lots of messages still in the active message forum areas that are from 2007 and 2008. Now, isn't that odd? |

Software change made us all new members. I really don't care. I enjoy this site and am thankful someone was kind enough to host it. . |

That's true. I also don't care ! Learnt many usefull things just by reading Messages. This is one of my favorite forums. Well, shall i continue now with repairing that KMZ Moskva 5 or shall i start an investigation about the supposedly archived (but then again not) 2007/2008 messages........ ?? |
