I've changed the electronics for a 'dead' Canon EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4 L USM lens. Now the lens has proper aperture reaction but focus is still wrong but active now.

I think the electronics need adjustement!
Does anyone know how to adjust the EF 28-80mm lens? I've the parts manual for this lens but that doesn't tell anything about adjustment.

Thanks for help!

I doubt you will find much information about your lens on this forum - far too modern to be rated Classic. I have worked on this range of canon lenses, but I am not even going to suggest a route/remedy for you to follow - there were/are a number of design modifications through the production run and messing about can lead to a very dead optic!

Search the websites that deal with the modern EF mount Canon ranges - there is a USM repair manual somewhere out there, but I seem to recall that it was generic rather than type specific. One reason why I did not bookmark, the other reason being that the modular electronics are not amenable to DIY - sure you can change the module, but adjustment is not always easy or possible. An accredited repair agent will have all the required parts to hand, so I have my modern kit serviced by the factory agents.
