Anyone have any info on Minolta 35 Model II shutter repair? I just bought another one & the curtains are dry & wrinkled. I have re-curtained an Exacta IIa in the past but I had a step by step guide to take me through it. This is a very clean little camera & I hate to see it just setting on a shelf. Any idea on what it would cost to have it repaired? The shutter speeds seem pretty close to where they should be, the rangefinder is very bright & accurate. There is even a built in diopter. Any help will be appericated.
Thanks, Glen

If you can get hold of a copy of Tomosy's 'Restoring the Great Collectable Cameras' it contains a good article on replacing the curtains in a Minolta 35 Model E. Perhaps similar if not identical to the Model II?

Thank you, I had two of Tomosoy's books but not that one. I just ordered it & will see what I can figure out.

I have some notes on it, if you'd like a copy - though since you've already ordered the book, it's probably better. I don't have that one either....

I'd love a copy. I'll compare it to the book & let you know of any differences if you are still interested.

New to forum - could use some help or advice.
I found a VERY nice Minolta SR T-101 body only -- at a flea market and got it real cheap. Problem is the mirror easy flops around when the camera is tilted. Can move it with my finger. The shutter works fine and she is nice enough she's worth keeping.
Anyone out there have any ideas or suggestions other than junk it, it's not worth sending to repair shop. I'm a camera collector and very old retired photographer so I have no intention of using it. However, if I could get the mirror working, I would be a satisfied and add it to my collection.
Ancient one.

I'm not sure if this helps any or not, but I found a Japanese article on a Minolta II shutter repair.

Thanks, I went there & translated the page to english & was still confused. Under cleaning the viewfinder it says: When you remove each part, when it lifted off a little twisted, I thought it be better to have screws & potatoes. I think I'll wait for the book. It did have some good pics & some usefull info. Thanks Glen
