I dug up my fathers old Asahi Pentax SP1000, figuring I could get some rolls of film and enjoy taking some pictures. Unfortunately the shutter doesn't seem to be firing. It indicates that it's cocked, but pressing the release isn't doing anything. Anything I can try to get it to release and work without taking it in to get repaired. I have screwdrivers and am willing to try whatever to get it to work.
I have been able to get the shutter to fire, but it seems I need to have the camera resting on a desk and press the shutter release quickly with a good amount of force. It seems like it's fully depressing but not triggering the shutter unless it's hit abruptly.
