I have a Yashica FR that shows the following behaviour: When the shutter is not cocked, the meter works properly, as well as the battery check. When the shutter is cocked, the meter stops working. Measuring at the wires that lead to the battery check circuit shows that something seems to short the battery when the shutter is cocked. The eletronics used to work before I removed the top cover to fix the frame counter... Does anyone have a schematic for this camera, or any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Dirk |

When you tested the camera and found it not working correctly, was the top on or off? Or was it not working in either case? |

It doesn't work either way. In the meantime I took the front cover off. There is switch at the mirror box that gets closed when the shutter is cocked. In this position the switch connects a wire that seems to be connected to the negative terminal of the battery to the camera chassis; which is connected to the positive terminal of the battery. Obviously, I'm missing something. Dirk |
