hello, once more me ... i also have two broken olympus om-2n cameras of which i would at least like to get one working properly. the first one always operates in manual mode, despite of the position of the manual/off/auto switch. the meter seems to show the proper values according to the selected mode, but the shutter always operates at the manually selected speed - even in off mode. on the other camera it is nearly the opposite: it operates in auto mode when switched to manual or auto. it looks like off mode is fine (the usual om-2 reduced auto mode in the off position) on this camera. also here the meter display in the finder seems to be fine and for the proper mode all the time. i already took of the top of the second camera and checked the connectivity of the switch plus i resoldered all the contacts i had access to, but nothing changed. does anyone have an idea where the problem might come from? i assume that maybe a cable is broken somehere. what about the switches which seem to be connected to the motion of the mirrorr and the aperture pin - maybe one of them not working well can result in one of those two false behaviours? anyone with olympus om experience has any idea what the problem might be or what else to eventually try? once more a lot of thanks in advance and best wishes - thomas |
