Hello Folks - Got started at last on my VP Exakta C, which has been a project put to the back of the queue for some time whilst I've worked up the courage to tackle it. The good news is the shutter curtains seem to be in good shape. The faults, as identified, are as follows: 1) Setting pin snapped off the shutter speed dial (no problem) 2) Insufficient tension in the winding clutch - when you're trying to cock the shutter it freewheels when it meets the additional resistance presented by the mirror pull-down. Any clue to adjusting the tension to enabe the thing to be wound without help? 3) Trailing curtain protrudes into the frame in the 'set' position, although leading curtain position is correct. Is there any adjustment of the position available without detaching the tapes from the rollers? Any advice and assistance greatly appreciated. Cheers, Jim |
