I have this wonderful camera, and I cannot move the lens, the condition is amazing no bruises or anything, perfect!
I am still looking for a bloody color back which, will never appear
I wish i could use it, it is sitting there in its Box and just not being useful I want to have fun with it, do you know what the problem could be? could I an inexperience camera repair person open it and fidgit with something to make it work(joke). I wish, but is there anything I can do at home? |

The shutter doesnt work, ha i just noticed that so im screwed, should I just sell it? |

Sorry, can't help you myself, but that's a pretty classic camera; hopefully someone who knows something about them will be along shortly.
By the way, that film format is usually referred to as "6x6" (cm, dontcha know). |

OH success! it needs a hard pushing but i managed to cock it, I was always frightened BUT i saw the shutter move |

I have two of those Super Ricohflexes.
One came with a viewing lens which was stuck and would not focus. Unfortunately, it was stuck really bad, and I ended up ruining it trying to get it loose.
To fix the focusing problem, you will need to dismantle the camera somewhat, and use some solvent, like strong alcohol. |

I must push that little triangle and the press the little handle down and i see a whif of the shutter and a click,
next issue is the focusing, I cannot move these two lenses to focus, I don't have the tiny screw driver to open it(neither do i want to in fear of breaking it), but taking it apart is easy just to clean the reflector |

I was fortunate. On my model vii, the lenses would turn, but barely. I removed the geared rings, and slowly but steadily got the lenses unscrewed. Like Scott said, once they were out, clean out all the old dried blue green grease and regrease. I use a lithium based grease and applied it to the threads with a toothpick in 3 small areas. I would add a little more at a time until they felt like I wanted.
You will have to collimate the lenses after you install them to make sure they focus simultaneously and on the same point (distance). If you are unfamiliar with this, do a search as there is a lot of information on this forum as ways to do this.
They are really a pretty easy camera to work on. If you have trouble getting the lenses out, post back as there are several here that have excellent tips on methods of softening the grease and getting the lenses to loosen. |

The super ricohflex is quite straight forward to dismantle and CLA
There are 3 screws around the lens housing - take them out
Then unscrew the lens carefully, if the grease if solidified add a few drops of Ronsonol or similar with a Q-tip or needle until the grease get soft again. Work with patience, and be not afraid
Once the lens is out there are 2 more flat screws to take the lid of the shutter out. At this point is a good idea to take pictures with a digicam for reference in case you have to leave the camera open for a couple of days.
Take the lid out, and then the shutter assembly should be visible.
Use some Ronsonol to clean the mechanisms and the camera hsould work again.
To reassembly follow the same procedure, and at the end you will have to collimate your lens, check the procedure posted in rangefinderforum and in other places. |

I found the solid grease and im currently cleaning it with a toothpick (this green dried grease right, Indeed I have been taking pictures as i followed along opening it
thought the shutter assembly, it is a bit confusing, thats the dial with the film iso that im frightened to pry open i do not want to ruin the
I havent taken out the lens but I will try now |

sorry for bad english, i was watching a video, I dont have grease, or as i read at another site lighter fluid, so im in trouble,, But as i removed the 'lens housing' I unscrewed the iso dial screw but I did not want to pull hard out anything and then ruin the shutter, but i noticed a much better movement of the shutter switch it wasn't as hard, and dont be displeased but i have took a tiny 'jewelers spoon' and put a drop of oil WD40 type to help the movements. I am not a camera repairman. I do what i can do best. SO i learned a little about it, now on the top focusing lens underneath I see 3 screws and their tight!. I put some oil type lubricant and I try ever so often but seriously they are tight, I do not want to eat up the screws! SO at this moment I am looking around to find a video or more information, but im in trouble no grease I wont use the camera until i find grease in order for nothing to wear out. I'll come back and check again, if i post picture i will link it but I see other have already so... I will put it on msn spaces. |

I think I will put everything back and not touch it for my sake and the camera sake until i find the lithium grease (which i was at the store and was thinking about it but didn't buy, so that would have felt encouraging), I just can take those lens out or unscrew them at all, If i am suppose to as I saw another person has posted pictures. I will now go back and mount those two back together and leave it be.

Thank you for all your help, Im horrible at explaining, I am sort of discouraged I have had this camera for 3 years and I was just scared to touch it because its so nice, But i seriously want to have fun with it this summer and take photos of flowers and children, but it will have to wait :< |
